Armond WakeUp released Even If I Lose, the follow up to 40 Days, on Tuesday February 27th via Illect Recordings. The project features several guests including: Sean C. Johnson, Jonathan Baker, DJ Because, and Brieah Taiye. Production credits include: Tee-Wyla, Ess Be, Doc, J. Rhodan, and Jonathan Baker.
Armond shares, “Even If I Lose is an album concept I’ve had for a few years, but didn’t feel a release to write it until February 2017. I was praying for direction & I heard God say “you’ve always created these projects about a concept & fit Me in them. When are you gonna create a project about Me?” Even If I Lose is me stripped down to nothing, but it is easily the strongest music I’ve ever created. It’s energetic, it’s confrontational, it’s powerful.”
Even If I Lose will be available at all download and streaming outlets February 27th.

The Worth is the final video from Armond WakeUp’s 40 Days EP. The EP is one of our favorites of 2017 and features production by Wes Pendleton.
Armond shares, “The Worth is the apex of my most recent EP 40 Days & perfectly sets up my next album Even If I Lose. The idea behind “The Worth” is simple. Society encourages us to find our identity & worth in what we do & what we’re good at & who we know. But if you live long enough, you know all of those things eventually lose their luster & die off. The value is never the same, even though we have to work. However, the Bible tells us over & over that our worth is in Him. Understanding, believing & accepting that we were created by Him & for Him produces a worthiness that transcends time, space & effort. That’s what I wanted to communicate with this song.”
He continues, “Even If I Lose sounds nothing like 40 Days sonically, but the sentiment is the same.”
“The Hold” is the lead single from Armond WakeUp’s 40 Days EP, available now via Illect Recordings.
The track features production by Wes Pendleton and the visual was directed by Armond himself.
Armond shares, “The Hold is a special record to me because it captures a question that God consistently asks me…”what are you holding onto?” It could be a mindset, a person, a fear, anything. And we build these walls with ways that we think and cement them with how we feel. We think those things keep hurt and pain out, and they do. But they also keep any sort of healing and restoration from getting in.”
“This is the first time I’ve directed and edited a music video, so this was new. Often when I create, I see what I wanna hear, so bringing this to life was an amazing experience. Shoutout every photographer, videographer, and director because they have an eye from God. It’s incredible.”
The 40 Days EP cements why Armond WakeUp is one of our favorite artists.
