The avant-garde artist who goes by the moniker Brian J (real names Brian Roberts) delivers a heartfelt single titled “Cancer Song”. He takes the listener deep into his personal space over a sombre piano riff and talks about his father’s battle with cancer and the hurdles he had to overcome after the ordeal. He shows us the emotional effects of losing a loved one and the way he deals with the situation. It’s something everyone can relate to.
Prior to his hip-hop debut on Cancer Song, Roberts traveled the globe in his early 20’s, doing interviews with everyone from DJ Khaled and French Montana to billionaires like Mark Cuban, Bill Marriott, Chairman of Marriott International, and Joe Gebbia, the co-founder of Airbnb, to Brad Parscale, President Trump’s 2020 campaign manager.
Brian J ‘swriting has taken him coast-to-coast across America via motorcycle, and across both the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. Roberts has guest lectured on writing and business at Rutgers University and Penn State, and even received honors from the U.S. Senate, Congress, House of Representatives for his pro-bono, local mentorship work.
