Word is Bond Rap Radio Celebrates 300 Episodes • Word Is Bond

Word is Bond Rap Radio celebrated a milestone Monday night when it aired its 300th episode.

DJ Hullewud, of Break North Radio, got things started with a special intro and mixset where every song had a “word is bond” reference. Local emcees Brewza and Solyd Roy performed songs and freestyles. We played some trivia live in the studio and had several callers on the line playing along, including TJ Edwards and Sankdafied.

Daddy J came through to show his support as well. I got my start in radio on his program, DOPEfm, about eleven years ago. It was great having him there for the 300th episode of my own show.

Thanks for celebrating with us, whether you tuned in live or caught the podcast, we appreciate all the support you’ve shown us for the past six years. Here’s to the next 300 episodes!

Christmas Rappin' on Word is Bond Rap Radio • Word Is Bond

Word is Bond Rap Radio celebrates Christmas with 2 hours of great holiday-themed hip-hop mixed live on the radio.

It’s a shame that we don’t hear these songs in the malls, on the radio, and everywhere we go during this time of year. Why is it that some of these classic songs haven’t managed to crossover? And why isn’t Kurtis Blow’s Christmas Rappin’ heard right alongside Mariah Carey or Wham this time of year? Why isn’t Run-DMC’s Christmas in Hollis heard outside of hip-hop culture? These two songs are the best Christmas songs ever in my humble opinion. What say you?

Kurtis Blow – Christmas Rappin’
George Strombo and Legends – Christmas Rappin
Run-DMC – Christmas in Hollis
Sahd Cobian – Roastin’
SYG and Kayne Martin – Christmas Cheer
Ugly Duckling – Last Minute Shopping
