Sundance & Adam L bring the jazz on The Last Sunrise

The Last Sunrise is Sundance’s latest superbly crafted jazzy hip-hop creation. You also cannot beat hearing Adam L rhymes either. We want more.

On the heels of his recent jazz-tinged efforts, Sundance returns with a wild new song entitled The Last Sunrise, which features famed underground MC, Adam L, and a cast of talented musicians including DJ Sean P, Sivion, and Stro Elliot. This horn-drenched single reminds us all to remain focused on what’s important during these uncertain times, and is a solid addition to his sporadic, eclectic production catalogue. Also being his first release since relocating to Dunedin, New Zealand, this is hopefully a great sign of things to come for the Illect Recordings artist.

Beat Rabbi releases final project Mazel Tov Cocktail

The bad news… Beat Rabbi has retired from beat making. The good news… Mazel Tov Cocktail is here via Illect Recordings! It’s an appropriate send off to one of our favorite producers. 31 tracks including a Deepspace5 posse cut.

Beat Rabbi shares, “I assume other producers have been in a similar situation where they have a number of beats they really like that have been repeatedly passed over by rappers for years and they think, I really would like to get these joints out there and heard so people know all the kinds of sounds and styles I’ve experimented with, even if a rapper doesn’t want to rhyme on it. That’s how this project started, though it expanded beyond just that. But being that I hung up the beat making trade years ago, I needed the right person to edit, mix and master these beats – and spice them up to make them presentable. DJ Sean P is that dude for me – I have so much respect for his ear, style and talent and was blessed that enthusiastically signed up for the task. So hear it is – some Beat Rabbi as you have and haven’t heard him before, topped off with some Sean P funk.

Precursor Mentality x Jurny Big x DJ Sean P “Stand Up”

Precursor Mentality drops off a single featuring guest rhymes by Jurny Big and cuts by DJ Sean P.

Precursor Mentality shares, “I’ve been a fan of Andy Schock’s production since I heard Wonder Brown rap over it on “the Gallows.” When I had the ability to rap on this beat, I jumped on it quickly. Jurny Big has been one of my favorite rappers for as long as I can remember, and I was very honored (& excited) to be able to work with him on this song. He actually wrote the hook for this track, and he wrote it with a call-&-response idea that will work well in a live setting. I was also fortunate to work with DJ Sean P, who provided the cuts for the intro and the outro, which really put it over the top (DJ Sean P also mixed & mastered the song as well). All in all, the song came out really good, and I was really blessed to be able to work with top-notch musicians to make it happen.
