Surreal is one of our favorite creatives. He’s got “it” with the bars, beats, and visuals. “Do Better” is a single/visual he dropped recently. Here is the scoop…
“Do Better” the new single/video by Surreal is a cosmic call for ascension and elevation. In a world rife with unconscious consumerism he’s radiating the need for awareness through frequency and intention. With media becoming more and more homogenized this song is a reverse hypnosis to break the mold and get the listener into the universal flow of understanding and love.
“Words sometimes fail” says the multidimensional artist. He made the track, wrote the verses and even created the visual that will drop in a few weeks so only having a handful of words over the music was very intentional. “The audience is way smarter than we give them credit for, especially the younger generation. Your vibrations speak louder than your words” Calling us to Do Better, and find a better way doesn’t need specificity because we all know what we need to do.
6lack is the rave of the moment and now he teamed up with Vevo to bring a raw, uncut acapella version of his song “Scripture” to the forefront. Devoid of any distractions, this live version shows the artist in his element as he taps into his inner chi. The live video was shot in NYC’s Elizabeth Street Garden and its aim is to show artists work through a different prism. With raw, stripped-down performances, the audience is able to connect with the music in a new way while allowing a raw and intimate look into the mind of the artist.
“Scripture” is taken off 6lack’s recently released full-length East Atlanta Love Letter. Watch 6lack videos: HERE

Nomis drops a dope visual for his single “Act of Love”. Watch the full video, many surprises await.
“Act of Love” is a soundtrack for summer nostalgia. Hear Nomis reflect on past summers of his youth while reminding you about some of your own personal favorite memories under the sun. In typical Nomis fashion, the story doesn’t end there. Listen as the music evolves, the tempo builds and “Act of Love” morphs into the heavily lyrical, “A Million and One”. At which point we hear Nomis showcase his ability to manipulate the English language, while sharing his world view as well as his personal insight into today’s social political climate. “Act of Love” belongs on your backyard BBQ playlist.

A.Sims has long been a favorite of ours here at SOHH. This video, and Cerulean EP, is long overdue. It even features “Ink” by DJ Aktual that you’ve probably heard on SOHH Radio. Take this project in.
Video: The Darkness
Directed by James Sims
The color blue is rare in nature. Cerulean is a variation of blue, like the sky. The idea is to make a hip-hop project that is just as uncommon, a sound that is set apart–touched by God perhaps–something that is particular and beautiful, like the mood of jazz. Cerulean is that rare shade of the spectrum. Stream the EP on Spotify.
A.Sims, a poet, emcee, writer, and filmmaker from Los Angeles by way of Indiana, started hitting poetry open mic nights with his hip-hop spoken word crew Commoners and Kings in 2004. Working on film sets by day and doing poetry at night he rubbed shoulders with some of the biggest heavyweights in entertainment. Now solo his goal is to usher smart lyrics, classic hip-hop, jazzy loops, and chill vibes into the mainstream music world.
Krum (fka Playdough) has always had that acoustic driven hip-hop sound on lock. If you dig that, you’ll love the Oddball video.
He shared, “Oddball has been of the best received songs from my latest album “Blue Eyed Devil” so we decided to give it the video treatment. Thanks to everyone that let me know they were feeling it. I couldn’t think of a better way to convey the vibe of the song than sitting on a Texas porch mid summer playing my guitar. This one is dedicated to the weirdos so make sure you pass the link to someone that’s as weird as you (if that’s possible).”

Clay Dub, acclaimed artist known for creating music “good for the soul, good for the hips, for the mind, for the culture” releases part 1 of his 3 part song series. “Best Friend” is available now for digital streaming and purchase.
The classic Hip-Hip beats, and soulful thumping rhythm set the tone for Dub’s reminiscent tale. Dub cleverly intertwines his love for the culture with his Hip-Hop rooted flow to deliver a fun, feel good track.
Dub shows off his entrancing storytelling expertise to canvas nostalgia between friends. What appears to be a forbidden childhood connection resurfaces into adulthood. A believer in fate, Dub is convinced the run in isn’t coincidental.
The versatile lyricist reminds us of lost innocence. “Best Friend” will take listeners back in time to “check yes or no if you like me” note passing, and harmless giggles in class. However, do remember this is a series so prepare for a cliffhanger.

Shout out to all the diehard fans who been down since day one. We built this organically and couldn’t have gotten it done without y’all!”
