Yugen Blakrok's "Carbon Form" takes the listener deep into the feminine essence • Word Is Bond

South African emcee Yugen Blakrok has always been ahead of the curve with her unique style. She totally shies away from the norm and delivers a highly dense material that makes the listener think deep. On her new release simply titled “Carbon Form”, she takes it back to the genesis using the most abundant and important element in the periodic table. Carbon which has various forms is the main motif on this thought-provoking record about duality in humans.

The highly abstract visual is represented in three forms as follows Nature, religion, and space/cosmos. Blakrok has served an enticing food for thought on wax, let’s do the dishes.

Canadian Duo Buck-N-Nice Release Eye-Opening Video "EMAG" • Word Is Bond

Canadians Buck-N-Nice release “EMAG” video, the title track off their sophomore album release available now for digital streaming and purchase.   Wordsmith SawBuck and producer DJ So Nice, take listeners on a compelling journey exposing ongoing challenges and deceptions of the music industry.

No holds barred, the duo combine vivid images and thought provoking lyrics to convey the constant battle artists have within themselves regarding money, success, and the evil surrounding both.

Buck-N-Nice had this to reveal about their own integrity involving the industry, “We don’t focus on creating that next club hit or keeping up with the latest trends, and this follows suit. “It’s purposeful that our music reflects life experiences, the community that we’re surrounded by, and the general influences that have shaped us into artists and people.”

The continual flow of metaphors used by SawBuck capture the catch 22 artists experience, while DJ So Nice heightens the emotion with an arrangement of combative, yet classic Hip Hop beats.  Video directed and produced by Patrick Lozinski.

Masta Ace is making 'A Breukelen Story' all about Marco Polo… • Word Is Bond

Masta Ace & Marco Polo is teaming up to bring you A Breukelen Story, where the concept for the album is about the Canadian’s move to Brooklyn from Toronto – back in the early 2000s.

For their introduction to the album, the duo linked up with Boot Camp Clik’s own Smif-N-Wessun – who comes in on the hook for the song, ‘Brooklyn’. In an interview with Complex, Ace says it’s a tribute in a positive way to his hometown.

“This song is an ode to my birthplace…. Brooklyn… originally named Breukelen after the city in Holland… the video depicts the beauty and essence of my city and Director Parris Stewart captures it perfectly!”

‘Breukelen’ is ‘Brooklyn’ in Dutch. The Dutch settled in the town and gave it the name (similar to the name of the town in Holland) in the 17th century.

This isnt the first time we’ve seen Ace and Polo link up to do music. Ace appeared on Polo’s ‘Nostalgia’ track (in which the video was shot in Brooklyn) from his 2007’s Port Authority album, and in 2011 they did a song called I Refuse (feat. eMC partner Wordsworth) for Russell Peters’ stand up comedy gig on DVD.
